Geologic provinces of the United States: Distinctive landscapes of the Basin and Range Province

The area outlined in red shows the Basin and Range province. Its distinctive landscape is especially easy to pick out in the north. Notice the elongate mountain ranges that look like rows of caterpillars marching northward.
