Geothermal Resource Investigations

Geothermal Outreach

Issue: Geothermal energy is a significant source of renewable electric power in the western United States and, with advances in exploration and development technologies, a potential source of a large fraction of baseload electric power for the entire country. Communicating technical information about the nature and potential of geothermal resources presents a significant challenge, and this task encompasses the work within the project that is dedicated specifically to outreach and communication.

Objectives: The objectives of this task are to communicate the results of project work on geothermal resource investigations to the diverse non-technical community that is interested in geothermal issues, including, but not limited to, other Federal agencies, state and local agencies, parts of the geothermal industry, Congress, the media and the general public.
