Current River

The Current River is a spring fed river in karst of the Ozark Plateaus Province in southeastern Missouri. Along with surface water drainage, a large amount of water enters the rivers through large springs. Big Spring (see photo one) is several miles upstream of Big Bend and provides on average 280 million gallons per day. The Current River is popular attraction for canoeists.
