Ubehebe Crater |
|
AccessibilityLocated six miles west of Scotty's Castle, Ubehebe Crater is accessible by a paved road extending 40 miles northwest from Highway 190. This road leads to a parking and viewing area on the western edge of Ubehebe Crater.. Suggestions for your visitThis unusual landscape is worthy of exploration. The trail to the bottom of Ubehebe Crater is a fun romp through loose rubble. However, the laborious climb out can be exhausting. A gentler 0.5-mile trail can be followed along the rim of Ubehebe to Little Hebe Crater. Although older than Ubehebe, Little Hebe maintains a very distinctive form. After exploring Little Hebe, it's possible to continue a loop walk for another mile around the rim of Ubehebe. For more informationTelephone: (760) 786-3200
