Suggestions for your visit
This is one of the most spectacular views of Death Valley. From Dante's
View, the vista includes more than 11,000 feet of vertical relief from
the top of Telescope Peak to the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere
near Badwater. Early morning lighting is better than later in the day.
Temperatures are usually 20 degrees cooler than on the valley floor.
Although there are no maintained trails, it is possible to hike along
the ridge in either direction. The hike to Mt. Perry (four miles north
of Dante's
View) offers beautiful views in all directions.
