Badwater is located on the Badwater Road, 18 miles south of the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. There is a paved parking area just off the road.

Suggestions for your visit

During the cooler seasons, taking a walk onto the salt flats is a great way to explore this unique landscape. Get down on the ground to appreciate the intricate details of the salt deposits. The contrast between these minute salt crystals and the immensity of the expansive valley is very striking. In the middle of over 200 square miles of salt flats, humans may stand in awe of this strange and wonderful planet that we call home.
