Facilities and Equipment

GUMP facilities include:

Computers: SUN, Windows, LINUX, and Mac platforms.

Equipment: 6 Lacost&Romberg and 2 Scintrex high-precision gravity meters; 3 Cesium magnetometers; 6 proton-precession magnetometers; truck-, ATV-, snowmachine- and boat-towed magnetometer systems; 5 field susceptibility meters; paleomagnetic field sampling equipment; drill-core susceptibility meter; and a fleet of 5 field vehicles.

Labs: Rock preparation lab, Paleomagnetics lab.

Software:
Oasis Montaj – mapping software for processing, visualizing and analyzing potential field datasets.
GMSYS – three-dimensional interactive potential field modeling software program for inverse and forward problems.
EarthVision – three-dimensional geologic model building and visualization software.
In addition, we carry a wide range of other in-house and commercially developed software packages for processing and displaying geologic and potential-field data.
