Figure 7. Gamma-ray log of the Arco Bixby #1 well shows a 500' thick interval with relatively high readings that correspond to the Monterey Formation. Samples collected from core in this interval were analyzed for trace element content. The uranium and selenium content both show strong correlation with the gamma-ray log signature. Compare the three columns at right from Isaacs (1999, unpublished data) and Isaacs et al. (1999).
