Capabilities

Because the desert landscape is a complex mosaic it requires integrated study of its many parts: vegetation, wildlife, soils, and climate. Furthermore, these integrated parts undergo coordinated change with time, such as vegetation responding to increasingly wet climate conditions. The desert landscape project maintains a correspondingly diverse staff and close associations with other studies in order to shed light on the complex, interwoven landscape issues.
